Watch the lawyer, not only the hearing.
Notice preparation, judgment, advocacy, client care, and what happens when the plan meets reality. Gather the evidence needed for a useful conversation.

EQUES Law Group · Chief Practice Officer
We are looking for the head coach of EQUES attorneys: an experienced lawyer who can turn vision into judgment, potential into practice, and growth into enduring professional excellence.
01 / Why this role exists
EQUES has momentum: a growing multi-office platform, ambitious attorneys, strong operational leadership, and a clear vision for serving communities across Ohio and beyond.
What we need now is a leader who lives in the space between vision and daily practice—someone who can see what the firm is becoming, then sit beside an attorney and help them do Tuesday morning differently.
A candid note from our Executive Partner
I know where I am strongest: casting vision, solving problems, designing what comes next, and helping people see what is possible. The daily work of observing, drilling fundamentals, and coaching steady improvement requires a different kind of energy—and the firm deserves someone for whom that work is not a burden, but a calling.
Christopher M. White Executive Partner
This is not an attempt to make one leader do everything.
It is an intentional leadership design: vision, operations, and practice excellence working as peers.
02 / The work
Move from courtroom observation to candid debrief, matter strategy, and practice development. Select a moment to see the work.

03 / What makes it different
You will work in courtrooms, meetings, files, and debriefs.
The goal is not to take hard matters away. It is to make the attorney capable of handling them well.
Client work stays intentionally limited so urgent files cannot consume the coaching mission.
Real work becomes better judgment and repeatable habits.
04 / Why EQUES
EQUES is building a legal-service platform from which practitioners can excel—giving strong attorneys infrastructure, coaching, and room to lead while preserving the local relationships that make legal service matter.

05 / The leadership design
Executive Partner
Chris owns vision, direction, opportunity, and what EQUES should become.
Operational leadership
Jaime owns the operating platform and the execution that supports it.
Chief Practice Officer
You own attorney capability, professional habits, practice discipline, and the leadership bench.
06 / The person
Now you are thinking about what—and who—you will build next.
The strongest candidate will likely bring 15 or more years of meaningful practice, real responsibility, and a record of developing attorneys or professional teams. But tenure alone is not the point. Temperament is.
You take real satisfaction in watching another lawyer become excellent.
You can be direct without making correction feel like humiliation.
You enjoy repetition, observation, and incremental mastery.
You understand legal craft, client trust, and law-firm economics as one system.
You can challenge senior lawyers—including firm leadership—with judgment and humility.
You want your next chapter measured partly by the leaders you leave behind.
07 / The first-year test
It is how many become more capable because you were here.
Listen, observe, earn trust, and map the attorney group.
Establish coaching rhythms and individual development plans.
Turn recurring needs into competencies, drills, and standards.
Show measurable improvement and identify the next generation of coaches.
08 / The practical shape
Ohio-based with regular travel among EQUES offices, courts, and client locations.
Approximately 322 annual hours across 46 working weeks, generally at $400 per hour.
Total package includes salary and benefits, with separate bonus eligibility and growth potential within the firm.
Working as a peer with operational leadership and helping develop future practice coaches.
The limited utilization expectation is intentional. The role’s client work should create credibility and coaching opportunities—not become a second full-time job wearing a tasteful disguise.
A confidential conversation
You do not need a polished cover letter. Tell us about a lawyer or team you helped become better—and why this particular work matters to you now.
